Last week's meeting was another good meeting with Kathy Kaplan
c
speaking about the Impact for Women organization. The week before was an eye-opener on the world of providing services for the Homeless provided at St.Mary's House of Welcome and last week was an eye-opener about the amazing work done by Impact to provide assistance and dignity to women that have been victims of family violence.
On Saturday morning I met again with the MUNA committee of Susan Robb and Rosemary Kinyua. We have made progress. We have a guest speaker, set the price of the Zoom MUNA at $50.00/team, and finalized the promotional material and now started to send it out to clubs.
As I advised last week we accepted the offer from the Canterbury Rotary Club for another full pallet of Forameal and I can advise that Sainab has now taken delivery of its meaning in total we have received 2000 packets which are enough to make 10,000 meals. Sainab has been doing a great job of supplementing with other food and supplies and making deliveries every day.
Referring to last week again when I mentioned the contact from Dr. Tung Tran who subsequently attended our meeting last week I can now add that since that meeting he provided details of a particular family in North Melbourne that were particularly struggling and we made contact with them and they provided a list of things they need and Sainab went out purchased everything and delivered it. The pack included beef, chicken vegetables, and much more to make up a very substantial pack.
While I seem to be mentioning Sainab all the time I can say she won't be able to attend tomorrow night as she is representing SWDA in a Facebook live presentation for the Ethinc Council of Victoria with Raff Epstein as host.
For the 2nd week in a row, I attended the Melbourne Rotary Club meeting where Prof Brett Sutton was the speaker. It was a very well attended interesting meeting.
