Last week we had our member's only Board Meeting and now we are back to regular meetings again for a while. And we have a great lot of meetings ahead with all the details below. You will note there has been a change from previous advice as we were not aware that the District Governor's Official had already been scheduled for 30th September 2021. Members, please note that we will be staying on after the meeting to discuss the club with the DG.

One change from now is at the suggestion of our President we now have the same Zoom link for all our regular meetings.

Last Saturday we had the "Breakfast with the DG". Judy and I attended and there were a number of speakers from other clubs speaking about projects and activities that they have been involved in. It was a great source of ideas and you only need to get one good idea to make it all worthwhile.

One of the Speakers was Catherine O'Conner or Kitty as we know her. She was actually introduced as Dr. Catherine O'Conner. Kitty told us she actually has a PhD in Law from Oxford University. She spoke to us about the End Polio Walk which our club has already agreed to participate in.

This week has been the official start of clubs volunteering for RIMERN (Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network). Our club has already started with Sainab and Rahma doing the afternoon shift and on Saturday afternoon (before the Grand Final) Judy and I and Larry and Ted will also be doing a shift.

At the moment we only roster for Saturdays and Tuesdays and for morning and afternoon shifts (10.00 am to 1.00 pm and 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm). We are wanting people to commit to doing a 1/3hr shift per fortnight. They are looking at having groups of 4 for each shift

Please note Volunteers do not need to be Rotarians. (That doesn't mean there won't be the same stack of red tape involved in checking volunteers before they start but we have to be careful). Whilst we are in lockdown all volunteers will be provided with a Covid Safe Worker's Permit. If you are interested please contact Judy Page on 0425 741 624.
