President's Message

This week hasn't been as big a week in Rotary but still a big week nevertheless with both Father's Day and Judy and my 50th Wedding Anniversary

Thanks, everyone for all your good wishes and for your attempts at singing "Happy Anniversary". Not surprising that the song hasn't caught on.

Judy and I had a nice dinner for 2 from the Bombay Club in Ormond. A bit different from our 40th when we filled the whole restaurant.

On Saturday Judy and I went on our first Zoom meeting of a Saturday morning Synagogue congregation service where our milestone was recognised. The reality was that even though the event was witnessed by our 6 of our family our involvement was actually completely overshadowed by the fact that it was the first time ever that congregation had celebrated a Bar Mitzvah on Zoom. It actually was very impressive and the young lad did a fantastic job.

Last Thursday Larry and Susan issued all the material to clubs relating to MUNA and I have had a couple of clubs respond that I have needed to reply to. As well I have also prepared the program for the weekend.

As well as I have issued invitations to clubs in New Zealand, Singapore, Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea. I have contacted the current registrants from India to advise them of the change of date and give them the program.

On Monday I had a call from Neville Taylor (Neville #3) in his capacity of District Vocational Service Director to say he was emailing a survey that he wants our club to fill in.

I had previously mentioned that Dr. Hong Wu had made contact with the Cambridge South RC and that she was well received and so she gave me their contact details. I wrote to them at the time with no response. Well yesterday I got an email from their co-president to say my email had gone into her junk and she would love for our clubs to get together and see if we can see where it takes us. We may end up have a separate President to President Zoom later on.

This brings us to what is coming up.
