President's Message   

I am honored to be the President of the Rotary Club of North Melbourne.  With our diverse skill sets and backgrounds, we come together to serve our local and international communities.
This year's Rotary Theme is “Serve to Change Lives”.  We will be making a difference to change lives by:
Continuing to provide financial support and volunteer service in our local community to such groups as Soman House, Somali Women Development Association Inc., Simmons College, North Melbourne Primary School, Haileybury College, The Centre, Sister Jean, RIMEN
Internationally, we continuing to support the Rotary Foundation, Somali Women Development Agency projects partners with Somali Women Development Association Inc. such as “the Royal Beled Hawo Hospital project, Clean Water Project and Education for orphans’ children project”.
One area of focus that will not change is the recruitment of new members to maintain our club’s outstanding ……. year record of giving back to the community and most importantly to sustain our longevity in the North Melbourne area.

Neville, Judy, and Sainab attended four rotary clubs’ changeover which all have a great experience, network and fun.
As Rotarians, we always seek to serve the community and we live up to the ideals of service above self.   We work on practical projects and raise funds for worthy causes that assist disadvantaged and deserving people.  The work we do and our relationship with our community and those we help change us as individuals.
Our club embraces diversity and has a good mix of women and men members. We are flexible and open to change. We value the opinion and contributions of all our members and our community of friends and supporters.
 
In 2021-22 our club’s weekly meeting schedule will be as follows for example
Thursday 8 July 2021 will be online via zoom and Thursday 15 July will be in person our meeting place, until things changes COVID-19
Each week we will try to host a Guest speaker on Zoom or in person at our usual meeting place
